Freshwater & Community Conservation Externship
National Geographic Society & The Nature Conservancy

A global externship, bringing together changemakers from across the globe to research a freshwater issue that was impacting our local communities and communicate our findings.

I investigated the impact of urbanisation on Melbourne’s freshwater ecology and assessed its influence on the native platypus communities.

Background

Through this experience, I enhanced my capacity to network with industry professionals, cooperate with stakeholders, employ primary and secondary research, conduct landscape/gap analyses, and I additionally taught myself QGIS / ArcGIS systems.

Offered exclusive 1:1 Mentoring

Final grade of 100%

Accepted to receive Seed Funding to continue my research

Selected out of 200+ students to present my findings to the host companies
